- Omówiono zagadnienie rozdrabniania i scalania gruntów rolnych oraz program prac scaleniowych tych gruntów na lata 2004-2006.
The adjustment of Polish agriculture to the European Union standards and the enhancement of its competitive edge require better land utilization. In Poland, small-size farms of up to 5 ha dominate. Furthermore, ca. 20 percent of farms have land that consists of six or more separate plots. The majority of such farms are located in the south-eastern and central parts of Poland. Under these circumstances, it is of essential importance to enlarge the area of individual farms and to consolidate their land. Since 1990 there have been few consolidation operations because of a lack of funds. Poland is to obtain some financial support for this purpose from EU structural funds.
