- Przedmiotem rozważań autora jest pojęcie socjologii gospodarczej: sposoby definiowania, jej znaczenie w teorii i praktyce oraz powiązanie z innymi naukami społecznymi. W artykule zawarto prezentację różnych stanowisk dotyczących socjologii gospodarczej, występujących w literaturze przedmiotu.
The article underlines that in spite of a close prospect of Poland's entry into the EU, the curriculae of our universities have not yet introduced the subject of economic sociology which is taught in the West as Wirtschaftssoziologie and is obligatory there. Nevertheless, there is a controversy over the name of this subject. For some it is "sociology of economy", for others "sociology of management" or "economic sociology". In the light of empirically justified arguments it turns out that the most adequate is the name "economic sociology" which stems from a long-lasting tradition, has a rich related literature and in a significant way brings complex processes of economic life closer, explaining them in social or sociological categories.
