Abstract
Autorka analizuje problem niejednoznaczności definicji handlu wewnątrzgałęziowego. Pokazuje, że mianem wymiany wewnątrzgałęziowej określa się różne strumienie handlu. W tym kontekście odmiennie definiuje się też branże. Konsekwencją takiego stanu są problemy z określeniem czynników decydujących o intensywności wymiany wewnątrzgałęziowej oraz z mierzeniem rozmiarów handlu. Ponieważ opisywany problem dotyczy styku teorii ekonomii i badań empirycznych, wstępem do rozważań jest krótka analiza wybranych aspektów sporu teoretyków z empirystami oraz prezentacja teoretycznych objaśnień genezy handlu międzynarodowego.
