Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie procesu rozwoju obydwu perspektyw poznawczych w teorii i praktyce zarządzania strategicznego, jaki dokonał się na przestrzeni ostatnich trzydziestu lat oraz wyciągnięcie wniosków niezbędnych dla dalszego rozwoju rodzimej wiedzy w tym zakresie.

The guiding idea of this article is a growing awareness among strategic management theoreticians and practitioners that the mechanistic models developed and followed hitherto have a number of major weaknesses. An alternative is the organic approach to a strategy and strategic management. The first part of this article contains of the best know strategic management models in the mechanistic approach field. Against the background of advantages and weaknesses of these concepts there is presented the organic concept of strategic management, its assumptions and advantages for business practice. The paper ends with a brief summing up. (original abstract)
