Artykuł zawiera diagnozę stanu obecnego rynku usług transportowo-spedycyjno-logistycznych w Polsce. Omówiono zmiany jakie na nim zaszły po przystąpieniu Polski do UE. Przedstawiono czynniki długotrwałej przewagi konkurencyjnej w branży TSL.

The Poland's accession to the EU caused the dynamic development of TSL branch. The canceling of tariff walls, simplifing the administrative procedures and also admitting Polish TSL firms to the EU transport markets led to the increase in output flows. Simultaneously it could be noticed a foreign capital's interest in investments in Poland, both in production and in services. In TSL branch the share of foreign companies in generating revenues for couple years has been estimated at the level of over 60%. Also other financial factors, including qualitative ones, show the better efficiency of foreign companies management in comparison with Polish firms. From that we can conclude that foreign companies are some kind of "hotbed" of managers for Polish TSL sector. The management in Polish companies is getting better, but still in most cases they offer simple spedition and transport services and in less degree highly profitable logistic services. Those companies are a matter of interest of the large and foreign logistic companies, which often make a decision of their acquisition. In the future the meaning of intangible assets will rapidly grow, but first of all will increase the knowledge of creating and acting in the frames of logistic chains/network. Therefore, the skill of creating a long-term ascendancy over the competitors will depend on the above factors. (original abstract)
