- Transformacja systemowa polskiej gospodarki wymusiła zmiany w sektorze bankowym oraz w stanowiącej integralną część tego sektora, spółdzielczości bankowej. W nowych warunkach ekonomicznych część banków spółdzielczych zakończyła działalności, część upadła lub została zlikwidowana, a część połączyła się z innymi bankami w ramach tzw. procesów konsolidacyjnych. Zdaniem autorki, zagrożony sektor banków spółdzielczych oraz podmiotów przez nie obsługiwanych wymagał restrukturyzacji i konsolidacji, ale forma w jakiej ich dokonano wywołała pewne zastrzeżenia. Tematem rozważań w artykule była sytuacja sektora banków spółdzielczych po wprowadzeniu 24.06.1994r. Ustawy o restrukturyzacji banków spółdzielczych i BGŻ (Banku Gospodarki Żywnościowej).
The carried out systemic transformation of the Polish economy forced changes in bank sector and in cooperative banking being an integral part of this sector. After 1989 the cooperative bank sector was subject to important changes. Due to the necessity of complying with the capital requirements the need of consolidation of co-operative banks occurred. The act of 24 June 1994 on the restructurisation of co-operative banks and BGŻ, which was to lead to the formation of a three-step structure of co-operative banking, was of great significance here. Due to this act, the consolidation processes led to the strengthening of co-operative banks with a drastic decrease in their number on the one hand, but on the other hand, the new structure did not function well, which caused the accumulation of problems and controversies between the regional banks and BGŻ. This in turn created the necessity of further actions leading to the ending of the process of restructurisation of the co-operative banks sector. (short original abstract) - Accessibility
