- Szczególną kategorię bezrobotnej młodzieży stanowią absolwenci, czyli osoby, które po zakończeniu szkoły nigdzie nie podjęły zatrudnienia. Strukturalnym czynnikiem bezrobocia absolwentów, decydującym w zasadzie o ich pozycji na rynku pracy, jest niedostosowanie poziomu i struktury wykształcenia kadr do potrzeb gospodarki. Zatrudnianie młodzieży rozpoczynającej życie zawodowe stanowi jeden z najpoważniejszych problemów do rozwiązania w polityce zatrudnienia i polityce społecznej Polski. W artykule zaprezentowane zostały wielkość, dynamika i struktura bezrobocia absolwentów w latach 1996-2000. Dla celów analitycznych przytoczone zostały także poziomy bezrobocia w latach 1990 i 1995.
Unemployment is a serious social problem. It concerns large social groups, causes accumulation of negative features connected with material, social and political position. Unemployment in Poland can be characterised by a large percentage of young people in total unemployment. A special category of unemployed youth are school graduates. The study shows the level and growth of unemployment in Poland over the last five years, i.e. from 1996 to 2000. The statistics show a group of graduates with a view to selected categories of the unemployed: age, education, working, period and gender. The carried out analysis showing, the growth in number and structure of the unemployed graduates allowed to reach the following conclusions: 1. unemployment affects most of the graduates of post-secondary schools as well as primary and secondary vocational schools, 2. people with higher education constitute the smallest group of the unemployed, 3. among the unemployed graduates women prevail, 4. the highest number of the unemployed graduates according to statistics is observed in summer months (seasonal character of unemployment).
