- W artykule przedstawiono analizę procesów koncentracji za pomocą krzywej Lorenza. Dokonano również oceny specjalizacji i polaryzacji polskich regionów na przykładzie regionów pogranicza polsko-niemieckiego. Spejalizację sektorową zmierzono za pomocą indeksu Krugmana. Regiony Polski NUTS-2 podzielono na sześć grup według schematu ich aktywności gospodarczej.
Spatial structure studies of Southeast Europe show growing regional disparities in all countries, better and better results of the metropolitan regions, severe discontinuity of border regions and finally urban Systems with serious deficits of medium-size cities. Although the process of spatial adjustment to the transformation forces is very complex, the evidence available seems to reveal some generał patterns. According to them, in countries that have common borders with the EU and are in vicinityto the European core, the spatial adaptation favours Western and metropolitan regions. However, the disparities grow at a different pace and to a different extent in all countries under the transformation achieving higher levels compared to most EU countries. On the basis of extensive mathematical analyses, the authors of the paper show changes in the regional international competitiveness factors of borderland regions. The processes of specialization and concentration are evaluated in details. (original abstract) - Accessibility
