Cooperative Savings and Credit Unions - Abstract
- Przedstawiono genezę powstania i istotę funkcjonowania spółdzielczych kas oszczędnościowo-kredytowych. Omówiono system bezpieczeństwa depozytów w spółdzielczych kasach oszczędnościowo-kredytowych. Przybliżono działalność Towarzystwa Ubezpieczeń Wzajemnych SKOK.
Savings and Credit Co-operative Societies are a unique association for self-assistance functioning at the market of financial services. They are financial institutions functioning in a way similar to that of banks, however they cannot be defined as banks, since they perform services only for their members and not for the general public. Savings hoarded by Savings and Credit Co-operative Societies are not covered by the obligatory, governmental bank deposit guarantee system carried out by the Bank Guarantee Fund, and that is why these institutions have created their own, non-governmental system of deposit guarantees. The hereby article presents the principles which underlie the functioning of this system. (original abstract) - Accessibility
