- Przedstawiono rozmiary dysproporcji w poziomie rozwoju gospodarczego nowych krajów członlowskich Unii Europejskiej w okresie 2004-2006. Omówiono bezposrednie i pośrednie efekty polityki regionalnej w nowych krajach członkowskich Unii Europejskiej.
The enlargement of the European Union in 2004 increased considerably existing disproportions in economic development of the EU member countries. In the new EU member countries the level of income per capita, employment rate, unemployment rate and labor efficiency are considerably differentiated. At the same time there are differences among the new EU members in range of structural funds' usage. In years 2004-2006 there appeared the gradual acceleration of the economic convergence process in the "new" EU member countries at the international level. At least a part of this acceleration was the consequence of regional policy in the EU. Thus, it means that differences in economic development among the EU members are decreasing. On the other hand, these differences are still increasing at regional and interregional level. (original abstract) - Accessibility
