One of the most important challenges facing global companies is the determination of their corporate social policy so that they could increase their potential impact on the communities where they do business. This article discusses the issues connected with corporate social responsibility and globalisation. It stresses the necessity of changing the approach to strategies and CSR performance in face of global transformations. Globalisation is commonly perceived as a characteristic feature to define our times. Unfortunately, very little is known about CSR management in international companies. Corporate Social Responsibility is a major factor determining business in today's world. Globalisation is a fact and the social and environmental business context is undergoing rapid transformation. As a consequence of globalisation, companies are more and more aware of social and environmental aspects of their business on international markets. Companies must be able not only to generate profit but also to be good corporate citizens. Companies face numerous challenges in the area of management and code of conduct on the global market. It is obvious that CSR included in the corporate strategy brings a lot of benefits in the field of evaluation and measurement of corporate social responsibility its impact of profitability. The area of global CSR is developing all the time and includes a lot of challenges. One of them is the dilemma of constructing CSR within global and local dimensions. (original abstract)
