Kraków Voivodeship - Abstract
- Artykuł poświęcony jest badaniu zależności między dochodami rodziny a wydatkami na masło, odzież oraz ilością dzieci w rodzinie. Zbadano 120 budżetów rodzinnych w woj. krakowskim według danych z roku 1959, z których sto stanowiły budżety robotników. Dane dotyczące dochodów rodzin, wydatków na masło i odzież, ilości dzieci w rodzinie do lat 14 dotyczą średnich ważonych rocznych. Badanie popytu na podstawie budżetów rodzinnych przeprowadzono z wykorzystaniem funkcji J.L. Nicholsona.
In this paper the author demonstrates the superiority of the function of J. L. Nicholson over that of D. Allen. The study is based on statistical materiales concerning family budgets in the Cracow voivodship in the year 1959. It was found that each additional child in a family increases the expenditure for butter by 8.35 per cent, while expenditures for clothes and footwear are increased by 20.2 per cent. The author shows that Nicholson's function is of considerable practical value, constituting a useful index for determining the demand for butter. It also permits corrections of calculation of the demand for butter, in spite of the marked income elasticity of this product, and avoidance of false analysis of the market.
