- W artykule analizie poddano stan i podstawowe struktury ludności, a także wybrane procesy w ruchu naturalnym w województwie zachodniopomorskim w latach 1998-2005 na podstawie danych uzyskanych z GUS oraz Urzędu Statystycznego w Szczecinie. (fragment tekstu)
In the Westpommeranian region, as well as in whole Poland, the process of populations' ageing moves forward as a result of declining number of births and extending average lifespan. During the period 1998-2005 the proportion of young people was declining and the share of elderly people was increasing in the Westpommeranian region. The population changes that happen in the Westpommeranian, as well as in the whole country, bring with it serious repercussions of socio-economic kind. They provoke questions regarding future situation on the goods and consumption services market. Together with progressive ageing of societies, more and more important becomes the group of elderly consumers. Such age distribution suggests that the composition of consumption expenditure may change. The need for some goods and services will develop - for instance for such services as medical, social support, etc., while for others it will decrease - as in the case of educational services.
