Abstract
(fragment tekstu)

In the paper the dynamics of total and sectoral employment in Polish voivodships is analyzed through identification of four components: regional effect, sectoral-mix effect, competitive effect and residual effect using shift-share analysis. The research has been conducted by means of Regional Data Bank of Polish Main Statistical Office according to industry classification ISIC Rev. 3. It turned out that the largest part of variation in relative employment growth (in fact employment has declined in analyzed period) is explained by the competitiveness of economies and only some part is explained by a favorable sectoral structure.
