- Celem artykułu jest przeprowadzenie analizy zmieniającego się potencjału osób starszych jako konsumentów na rynku dóbr i usług konsumpcyjnych w Polsce z perspektywy starzenia się społeczeństwa. Analiza potencjału starszych konsumentów w ujęciu zasobowym objęła ocenę stanu i struktury według wieku ludności Polski, a także badanie struktury gospodarstw domowych według wieku respondenta i ich przeciętnych wydatków konsumpcyjnych. Analizę oparto na dwóch ostatnich (z lat 2005 i 1999) badaniach budżetów gospodarstw domowych przeprowadzonych przez Eurostat w krajach członkowskich i innych krajach Europy oraz innych danych Eurostatu. Observing the influence of demographic trends on composition of consumption is essential. Together with progressive ageing of societies, more and more important becomes the group of elderly consumers. Because of the changes in age structure of consumers, the composition of consumption expenditure will change, the need for some goods and services will develop (medical, social support, education, etc.) in particular. Moreover, gender of elderly consumers is also important for the composition of consumption expenditure, especially on medical goods and services, as women and men tend to have different propensity for various diseases. The article presents an analysis of elderly consumers' potential from the perspective of human resource in Poland in 1999 and 2005. Moreover, the study covers also an analysis of distribution of households by age of the reference person and their mean consumption expenditure. The study was based on the two latest Household Budget Surveys (HBS) conducted by Eurostat in 1999 and 2005 in all Member States and other countries of Europe. (original abstract) - Accessibility
