Seasonal adjustment methods, such as very popular X-ll, provide many interesting statistics of analyzed time series. The paper presents results of the classification of countries based on some time series characteristics of basic macroeconomic aggregates. The characteristics come from the application of seasonal adjustment and describe selected features of time series, such as seasonal and random variation, lengths of cyclical dominance periods and of widths of the average spans for different times series components. The classification is done in two variants, firstly based on the characteristics for single aggregates, secondly based on time series characteristics for all aggregates in respect. Resulting clusters group countries with similar characteristics of their macroeconomic aggregates development. (original abstract) - Accessibility
