Abstract
Celem badania była ocena aktywności przeciwrodnikowej kosmetycznych ekstraktów roślinnych z wykorzystaniem stabilnego rodnika DPPH. Spośród pięciu wyselekcjonowanych surowców roślinnych ekstrakty glikolowe z wierzby białej i brzozy białej wykazały najsilniejszą zdolność "zmiatania" wolnych rodników DPPH. Działanie przeciwrodnikowe ekstraktów malało w kolejności: Salix alba > Betula alba > Crataegus monogyna > Helichrysum italicum > Artemisia absinthium. Na podstawie wyników badań można zaproponować ekstrakty z wierzby białej i brzozy białej jako obiecujące źródło naturalnych przeciwutleniaczy odpowiednich do zastosowania w preparatach kosmetycznych i farmaceutycznych. The aim of this study was to evaluate the antiradical activity of cosmetic plant extracts using stable DPPH radical. Out of five plants selected for testing their antiradical activity, the glycolic extracts of Salix alba and Betula alba showed the strongest scavenging power. The order of DPPH radical quenching activity of plant extracts at different concentration is as follows: Salix alba > Betula alba > Crataegus monogyna > Helichrysum italicum > Artemisia absinthium. Conducted study leads to propose Salix alba and Betula alba extracts as a promising natural source of antioxidants suitable for application in cosmetic and pharmaceutical formulations.
