- Celem niniejszego artykułu jest prześledzenie genezy allowances market, zdefiniowanie przedmiotu obrotu na nim oraz typów transakcji, którym on podlega, zidentyfikowanie ich uczestników, a tym samym nakreślenie jego struktury. Rozważania zostaną wsparte wyrywkowymi danymi empirycznymi, a to z tej przyczyny, że do tej pory nie wykształciła się statystyka tego rynku. Wiele danych ma też charakter poufny i objętych jest tajemnicą handlową. Artykuł ma zatem charakter przede wszystkim poznawczy, stanowiąc przyczynek do pogłębionych studiów nad rynkiem uprawnień do emisji gazów cieplarnianych w ramach rynku węgla, których celem jest ocena jego skuteczności i efektywności w rozwiązaniu globalnego problemu zmian klimatycznych wywołanych efektem cieplarnianym. GHG emission allowances market, functioning within the framework of EU Emissions Trading Scheme, constitutes the subject matter of this article. The objective of the study is to analyse this market is origins, define its turnover object, types of occurring transactions and to identify its participants. On the basis of e.g. World Bank Data its significance was presented for the global development of an emerging emission allowances market functioning in line with the cap and trade rule, as well as the global carbon market. Particular attention was paid to an extremely dynamic development of EUAs futures market, which is observed at the leading European and non-European climate exchanges.
