Abstract
This paper concentrates on a problem faced by a firm operating in the electricity generating sector. Specifically, the problem is to evaluate and decide, if to invest in building of large capacity power plant, which is irreversible investment, or in a flexible sequence of smaller modular power plants, whose total capacity equals to the capacity of the large project. Modular project is valued by employing real option methodology as a compound growth option to invest in the following module; calculation is made under price uncertainty. (original abstract)
