- Integracja międzygałęziowa może opierać się na "twardych" rozwiązaniach infrastrukturalnych oraz na rozwiązaniach "miękkich", które odpowiadają na potrzeby organizacyjne czy informacyjne pasażerów. W świetle celów przyjaznego systemu transportowego zmiany systemowe przynoszące pozytywne skutki dla użytkownika powinny być traktowane priorytetowo. Z drugiej strony, sprostaniu tym wymaganiom sprzyja rozwój technologiczny, umożliwiający wykorzystanie nowoczesnych rozwiązań elektronicznych, w tym informatycznych, czy telekomunikacyjnych. Establishing the framework for a European multimodal transport information and payment system seems to be a key component of the overall strategy to optimise the performance of multimodal chains. The availability of information about travelling time and routing alternatives is relevant to ensure seamless door-to-door long-distance mobility patterns. Real-time status information for public transport (e.g. bus, metro, and rail) and multimodal real-time traffic information systems exist in several urban and extra urban areas in Europe and worldwide, both in the form of prototypes and fully operational systems. Additionally the full exploitation of new forms of electronic ticketing on mobile devices (smart cards, mobile phones, etc.) is considered an important step towards the realisation of a seamless inter-modal transport system. Some practical examples of existing solutions and potential for their transferability are presented in the article.(original abstract) - Accessibility
