Abstract

Reliability is the quality of an object evaluating whether it works properly over the required time period in specified exploitation conditions. Although the considerations on quality management and the ISO 9001 certificates are very common, Polish entrepreneurship is still facing problems with ensuring product reliability. The reliability-related approach aims at addressing the problems of applying normative criteria to quality. At the same time, reliability is also an element connecting quality with other competition factors of entrepreneurship of modern enterprises (time, flexibility, and cost). However, entrepreneurship frequently omits to ensure product reliability. The present paper presents the assumptions of the deterministic reliability approach, as well as its position and role in the structure of modern process organisations.(original abstract)
