- Niech M będzie rodziną miar probabilistycznych określonych na σ-ciele S. Oznaczmy W(µ, y), µ, v ϵ M, podzbiór kwadratu [0, 1] x [0, 1], będący otoczką domkniętą i wypukłą zbioru wszystkich par (µ(A), v(A)), A ϵ S. A Smoluk przedstawił hipotezę, że funkcja d przyporządkowująca każdej parze miar (µ, v) pole zbioru W (µ, v) jest metryką w przestrzeni M. A. Misztal pokazał, że hipoteza jest prawdziwa dla miar probabilistycznych o nośnikach dwupunktowych. Niestety poniższy przykład dowodzi, że hipoteza jest nieprawdziwa dla miar probabilistycznych o nośnikach trzypunktowych. (fragment tekstu)
Each pair (µ, v) of probability measure on S we can attach a subset W(µ, y) being a convex closed hull (in the square [0,1] x [0,1]) of the set of all pairs (µ(A), v(A)), AϵS. A. Smoluk presented a hypothesis that the fonction which attains as a value the area of the set W(µ, v) for pair (µ, v) is metric. In the paper is proven that the above hypothesis is not true.
