- W artykule przedstawiono infrastrukturę społeczną jako główny czynnik rozwoju małych miast. Określono dostępność przestrzenną i społeczną podstawowych placówek z zakresu infrastruktury społecznej, jak również poziom jej rozwoju, a także relacje między poziomem jej rozwoju a wielkością miast. Wykazano istnienie zależności między poziomem rozwoju infrastruktury społecznej a sytuacją demograficzną i gospodarczą miast.(abstrakt oryginalny)
The paper presents problems of social infrastructure in small towns in context of social and economic development relationships. Two areas have been distin-guished: • present state of the social infrastructure in the small towns, • role of the social infrastructure in increasing attractiveness of small towns from the viewpoint of quality of human factor which influence making use of endogenous potential for development. The mechanisms of social infrastructure development are related to microeconomic factors (population and financial situation of small towns). A great number of those towns face difficulties in maintaining properly shaped objects of the social infrastructure and in responding to the challenges related to the open character of the economy. The social infrastructure plays more and more important role in the structure of employment and of economic activity.(original abstract) - Accessibility
