Abstract

W artykule podjęto popularny obecnie problem policentrycznego rozwoju regionów, będącego warunkiem spójności terytorialnej i wielostronnej efektywności gospodarczej. Policentryczność została tu określona jako wieloośrodkowa, umiarkowana koncentracja osadnictwa i działalności gospodarczej, oparta na sieci miast. Problem kształtowania sieci jest omawiany w skali krajowej, regionalnej i subregionalnej. Ponadto poruszono potrzebę kształtowania wielu centrów wewnątrz miast. Jest to warunek sprawności mechanizmu generującego rozwój. Problem policentryczności w każdej skali jest odniesiony do rzeczywistości województwa lubelskiego, mającego niekorzystną sieć miast, w tym brak ośrodków zdolnych do wspomagania Lublina w zakresie obsługi zaplecza. Sugestią autora jest wspomaganie wzrostu wielkości wybranych kilku ośrodków do poziomu tworzącego warunki rozwoju funkcji wielkomiejskich, jako "przepompowni" impulsów rozwojowych na miasta średnie i małe.(abstrakt oryginalny)

(The article discusses a popular problem of the polycentric development of regions, being a condition of the territorial cohesion and the multilateral economic effectiveness. Polycentricity was determined in the paper as the polycentric moderate concentration of the settlement and the business activity based on the net of cities. The problem of forming of the network was discussed in the domestic and regional scale and in subregions. Moreover, a need of forming of many centres inside cities was raised. It is a condition of the efficiency of the mechanism generating the development. The problem of the polycentricity in every scale was related to the reality of the Lublin Voivodeship having a disadvantageous network of cities including the lack of centres which would be able to assist Lublin in the service of the back. The author suggests supporting the increase in a few sizes of selected centres to the level creating conditions for the development of city functions as a "pump" of development impulses on medium and small cities.original abstract)
