- W rozdziale przedstawiono analizę występującej obecnie globalnej nierównowagi płatniczej z perspektywy nadwyżki w obrotach bieżących krajów azjatyckich. Scharakteryzowano skalę i proces narastania globalnej nierównowagi płatniczej, opisano przyczyny nadwyżki w obrotach bieżących krajów azjatyckich z punktu widzenia bilansu inwestycji i oszczędności tych gospodarek oraz przedstawiono konsekwencje istniejącej nierównowagi dla tej grupy krajów.(abstrakt oryginalny)
Since the late 1990s the rapid growth of the global economy has been accompanied by increasing global imbalances. Global imbalances refer to net deficits or surpluses in trade and investment among countries. At present, the global imbalances are expressed in the current account deficit of the worlds biggest economy - the United States, and the corresponding surpluses in other countries, mostly in the Asian economies, Middle East (oil producing countries) and the Russian Federation. There is no universal explanation of the origins of this situation. Some economists explain this extremely high US deficit with internal factors, i.e. mostly negative savings. Others, in turn, claim that it is external forces which gave rise and added to the persistent deficit, i.e. the global saving glut. Regardless of who is right in this dispute, the increasing surpluses reported in the Asian economies are an integral part of the global payment imbalances. The paper aims to present the scale of the global imbalances, define the origins of the current account surpluses in Asian economies in the context of the balance between investment and saving, and analyse the implications of the existing imbalances to this group of countries.(fragment of text) - Accessibility
