- Koncepcja "długiego ogona" (ang. "Long Tail" Concept) Chrisa Andersona zyskuje coraz większe znaczenie dla nauk ekonomicznych i zarządzania. Jej założenia głównie są widoczne w zakresie handlu, szczególnie handlu internetowego. Koncepcja opiera się na trzech zasadniczych czynnikach, które stymulują "długi ogon": upowszechnianiu metod wytwarzania, upowszechnianiu metod dystrybucji oraz łączeniu podaży z popytem. Przykładami podmiotów handlowych o charakterze tradycyjnym i internetowym, funkcjonujących na podstawie zasad "długiego ogona" są między innymi: Sears, Roebuck and Co., Wal-Mart, Allegro.pl i eBay.com. Chris Anderson's "long tail" concept is becoming increasingly important in economic and management sciences. Its assumptions are visible mainly in trade, particularly in e-commerce. The concept is based on main factors that stimulate "the long tail": spreading production and distribution methods and connecting supply with demand. The examples of traditional and on-line commercial operations, which function basing on "the long tail" principles are: Sears, Roebuck and Co., Wal-Mart, Allegro.pl and eBay.com.
