Abstract
We consider several fundamental principles of rabbinic approaches to handling uncertainty for legal purposes. We find that nonnumerical versions of ideas subsequently developed in the literature on interpretations of probabilistic statements are useful for explicating these rabbinic principles.(original abstract)
