- Artykuł koncentruje się na problemach związanych z kwestiami regulacyjnymi i nadzorczymi dotyczącymi stabilizowania dużych globalnych banków, które ujawnione zostały podczas niedawnych kryzysów: globalnego kryzysu finansowego z lat 2007-2009, kryzysu ekonomicznego związanego z pandemią COVID-19 w 2020 r. i niedawnych problemów banków Zachodniego Wybrzeża USA (marzec - maj 2023). Inspiracją do powstania tekstu były też dyskusje, jakie miały miejsce podczas konferencji: "This time is different: post-pandemic banking and financial markets", która odbyła się w Uniwersytecie Ekonomicznym w Krakowie w kwietniu 2023 r. Celem artykułu jest analiza problemów ujawnionych przez kryzysy lub szoki zewnętrzne, oraz przedstawienie syntezy doświadczeń w aspekcie prowadzenia polityki publicznej wobec dużych banków. The article focuses on problems related to regulatory and supervisory problems of stabilizing large global banks, which were revealed during the recent crises: the global financial crisis of 2007-2009, the economic crisis related to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and the recent problems of the US West Coast banks (March-May 2023]. The text was also inspired by discussions that took place during the conference: "This time is different: post-pandemic banking and financial markets" held at the Cracow University of Economics in April 2023. The purpose of the article is to analyze the problems revealed by crises or external shocks, and to provide a synthesis ofexperiences related to public policytowards large banks.
