National Bank of Poland - Abstract
- Przedmiotem artykułu jest próba oceny skuteczności działań NBP w prowadzeniu polityki antyinflacyjnej.
The National Bank of Poland has tried to control inflation since 1990. The results are not quite satisfactory - consumer prices rise from 1 to 5 procent a month - but the policy is proper and accepted by the IMF. The ultimate goal is one-digit inflation in 1997. Technically no problem, as money supply is generally under control, but difficult, because of the social costs and inflationary expectations. Central bank of Poland seems to be rather independent. In spite of this nobody can be sure that it will use independency in a right way. (original abstract) - Accessibility
