European Central Bank (ECB) - Abstract
- W artykule przedstawiono rys historyczny dotyczący powstania i funkcjonowania banku centralnego w Europie. Szczególnie omówiono działalność Bundesbanku oraz Banku Anglii. Omówiono również kryteria unii walutowej i ich spełnianie przez poszczególne kraje Unii Europejskiej.
A brief historical overview of the development of central banks in Europe is given. Following several phases, this over 300 years lasting evolution has lead to their increasing independence of political decision making centres. The last, still continuing phase of this evolution is the formation of an European system of central banks. So even now, in developed countries, there is still a tendency to change the role and position of a central bank inside the whole economical system. Consequently, alsoin Poland the role and position of the central bank is still changing, what is forced by the transformation of the country's economy as well as its internationalisation. Such changes are also to be expected in the future. (original abstract) - Accessibility
