- Abstract
- Sprawnie działająca sieć informacji turystycznej staje się napędem koniunktury turystycznej w wielu regionach. W artykule przedstawiono wpływ systemów informacji na gospodarkę turystyczną.
Transformations which have been occurring under the influence of information technology development become visible in different spheres of social and economic life. The popularization of advantages resulting from collecting, accumulating, processing and providing information slowly creates our perception of information as a commodity. However the quickly increasing demand for it results in the fact that it gradually becomes a factor, which shapes our economic reality. This influence is especially strongly reflected in tourism economy, which to a vast extend is the market of services depending on information. The information industry is pointed to as the area, which in the nearest future will make the biggest influence on tourism economy. Also the importance of information, as such, in tourism may only be understood as a set of data. Following the progressing globalisation and especially due to the development of modern information technologies its importance is significantly growing as well as its possibilities of stimulating the development of tourism. The hereby paper presents the influence of information systems on shaping tourism economy. There has also been presented a new division of traveling for tourism consisting of seven stages, resulting from information aspects as well as the analysis of its importance for the development of tourism.
