- Omówiono pojęcie reasekuracji, czyli usługi finansowej mającej na celu ochronę przed niewypłacalnością w kontekście stosowania jej w działalności ubezpieczeniowej. Ważną kwestią jest obliczenie składki reasekuracyjnej. Omówiono pojęcie ustalania składki w reasekuracji proporcjonalnej i nieproporcjonalnej.
The paper is devoted to the method of fixing reinsurance premium which is one of the most important (if not a decisive one) determinants of the price of reinsurance agreement. The method of calculating the premium depends, first of all, upon the method of distribution of risk between the cedent and reisurer. Whereas in proportional reinsurance the fixing of the very reinsurance premium is not complicated, in non-proportional reinsurance the calculation of a premium to be paid to the reinsurer is more difficult. For the above mentioned reasons, the paper is almost completely devoted to the methods of calculating the premium in non-proportional reinsurance, especially in the excess of loss treaty. Particularly, one should differentiate the burning cost method (calculation of the premium with particular reference to the existing course of damages), the exposule method (calculation of the premium with particular reference to the structure of portfolio) and the scenario method (calculation of the premium with particular reference to the socalled damage cycles). Moreover, the aim of the paper is to highlight the problems connected with calculation of the so-called reinstatement premium (the premium reinstating the indemnity limit of the reinsurer).
