Abstrakt
Artykuł omawia zagadnienie metod identyfikacji i wykorzystania talentów w organizacji.

The article is devoted to defining methods that could be used during the process of identification of individuals with high potential within an organization. Very often the people skilled in certain spheres have a considerable impact on the effectiveness of an organization's functioning. Quoting various definitions of 'talent' the author indicates that the process of searching for talents within an organization is complex and multidimensional. Referring to measures used to appraise workers' competences, and particularly to Assessment and Development Center procedures, as well as the analysis of critical events and interviews the author points out that the same methods could be applied to identify talents in an organization. Nevertheless, the process of talents identification requires a more complex analysis of the skills and knowledge of the employees - which is not limited to the perspective of the position occupied. In the article the author presents a model of talents identification that can be used at all levels within an organization. It is based on preliminary selection of individuals with highest potential, which is done by analyzing the results of workers' appraisal, AC/DC sessions for those positions and behaviors in critical events. Those who score above the average should next undergo an appraisal procedure based on AC and including situations that go beyond the scope of the tasks ascribed to a given position. On the grounds of high scores in such extraordinary situations a worker can be qualified as an individual that bas a talent in a given sphere. (original abstract)
