- Autor w pierwszej części artykułu krytycznie odnosi się do istniejących w literaturze zachodniej modeli Philipsa, Friedmana, Phelpsa pokazujących związek między tempem wzrostu gospodarczego a rozmiarami bezrobocia i zjawiskami stagflacji. W drugiej części prezentuje własne badania, które pokazują faktyczne związki między analizowanymi wielkościami dla krajów OECD w latach 1970-1984. Równocześnie wyodrębnia przyczyny wywołujące bezrobocie i stagflację w tych krajach oraz możliwości ich przezwyciężenia. (abstrakt oryginalny)
Our analysis has shown that the Keynesian aggregate demand framework and the Phillips curve unemployment-inflation trade-off are still relevant for theory and policy. However, aggregate demand considerations have to be reinterpreted within a broader framework in which aggregate supply shifts plays a much larger role and in which open-economy considerations and mutual interdependence of economies are explicitly taken into account.
