- Omówiono dane dotyczące handlu UE i USA według kategorii ekonomicznych. Zaprezentowano głównych partnerów handlowych USA. Przedstawiono główne pozycje w amerykańskim eksporcie i w imporcie do krajów Unii Europejskiej.
The US is by far the EU's largest trade and investment partner. The transatlantic relationship also defines the shape of the global economy as a whole, as both the EU and the US are the largest trade and investment partners for almost all other countries in the global economy. The EU and the US enjoy the most integrated economic relationship in the world, illustrated by unrivalled levels of mutual investment stocks, reaching over €2.1 trillion. Investments are thus a real driver of the transatlantic relationship, contributing to growth and jobs on both sides of the Atlantic. It is estimated that a third of the trade across the Atlantic actually consists of intra-company transfers. However, the shares of their mutual trade have been steadily declining, as well as their share in the global trade, observed especially in last two decades. These changes result more from the growing interconnections among markets (globalisation) than from the weakening of bilateral relations.
