(fragment tekstu)

Deregulation and globalisation of financial markets in the last two decades has dramatically influenced the scale and complexity of banking firms. The global financial crisis of 2007-09 has brought new perspective that of "responsible market participant", and has forced banks and regulators to rethink strategic and competitive issues in banking. Consequently, the aim of this paper is to contribute to the discussion about the necessary regulatory changes and their impact on market stability and bank business model, based on the review of the new empirical studies in the financial literature.
