- Economy based on the sustainable development should aim to minimize the consump-tion of non-renewable resources and to replace the energy from non-renewable fuels, by the energy from renewable sources. The authors show the analysis and diagnosis of the amount of renewable energy generated in Poland, compared to countries in Baltic See Region. The authors put emphasis on the development barriers in this sector in Poland, that is especially time-consuming, capital-consuming and complex investment process. Complex administrative procedures, infrastructure, legal and planning constraints per-mits cause that the dynamics of development in this sector is low.(original abstract)
