- W ocenie autora, doświadczenia pierwszych lat transformacji systemowej wykazały, że wszystkie przedsięwzięcia zmierzające do budowy gospodarki rynkowej są nieuchronnie inflacjogenne. Artykuł ujęty jest w następującym porządku: podstawowe źródła inflacjogenności gospodarki w okresie transformacji systemowej; czynniki wywierające wpływ na wzrost gospodarczy i na inflację; mechanizm rozprzestrzeniania się inflacji w gospodarce narodowej; konfliktowe metody osłabiania inflacji w okresie transformacji systemowej; konieczność łagodzenia konfliktów między wymaganiami i skutkami działania rynku a potrzebą osłony socjalnej dla uboższej części społeczeństwa.
At the beginning, the author examines the underlying sources of the inflationary tendencies in the economy during its systemic transformation. Then he turns to the analysis of the factors promoting economic growth on the supply and the demand side. The equation of components of the increase in total demand is confronted with the equation of the increase in real income, and of the increase in money supply as deducted from the I. Fisher's quantity formula of money. On that basis, two equations of the rate of inflation are arranged, and then used to examine the mechanism of diffusion of inflation throughout the economy and to reveal the conflicting methods of checking inflation in the period of the systemic transformations. In conclusion, the author points to the need of mitigating the conflicts between the requirements and consequences of operation of the market and the needed social protection of the lower-income groups.
