- The article is devoted to the analysis of interrelations between the tendencies toward globalization and nationalism in the contemporary world economy. In part one, an appraisal of factors is given that erode the tendency toward a global hegemony and make for a revival of processes of regional integration. In part two, the author considers the role of the national state in overcoming the disproportions of development at the world level. The rise in interregional, social and technological divergences is considered as the most important global challenge of the present epoch. (original abstract)
