A "new economy" (NE) is coming into existence. It is a product of widely-conceived economic changes, and at the same time a set of new factors, features and conditions which influence society reciprocally. The "new economy" has many names - digital economy, information economy, knowledge-based economy, high-tech economy, e-economy, etc. Contemporary societies are also given new names - information society, cyber-society, high-tech society, knowledge-based society, etc. A certain parallelism or correspondence can be observed here. Nevertheless, it is difficult to describe economy-society relations, especially in a situation of dynamic change and mutual influence. What is more, the research fields of those who study the economy and those who study social changes seldom overlap. The latter see those changes more as a result of the influence of information and knowledge than as a result of traditionally conceived economy. It is difficult to separate economy and society even for purely analytical purposes. In any case, one can depart from the obvious statement that the economy and society are not the same thing, although both these spheres (systems) are interrelated and influence each other, although not necessarily with the same force and at the same time.
