- Abstrakt
- Za jedno z kluczowych zagadnień podejmowanych na szczytach grupy G7/G8 należy uznać kwestie związane z handlem międzynarodowym. Były one podnoszone zarówno jako problem we wzajemnych kontaktach grupy, ale też jako kwestia globalna oraz jako jeden z obszarów stosunków z Europą Wschodnią i z krajami rozwijającymi się. Artykuł uwzględnia wszystkie te aspekty, uwypuklając zwłaszcza politykę liberalizmu handlowego, jaką G7/G8 promowała na szczytach oraz stosunek wobec organizacji koordynujących wielostronną wymianę. Problem efektywności poszczególnych inicjatyw w dziedzinie międzynarodowego handlu jest kwestią bardziej złożoną i wymaga dalszych badań i odrębnych opracowań. Publikacja w zdecydowanej mierze opiera się na dokumentach, które przywódcy mocarstw akceptują podczas corocznych obrad. (fragment tekstu)
The name G7 became official in 1976 when Canadian participants joined the representatives of France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Japan and the US. The transformation into G8 was formally made possible in 1998 during the Birmingham summit. Economic declarations and summit communiqués are the most important documents from the summits. They include recommendations for members of the group, and they also contain proposals directed to the regions of the world. All these various documents contain a wide range of subjects: macroeconomic policy (inflation, employment, economic growth); trade and monetary system issues; new financial architectures; energy problems; North-South (including debt initiatives) and East-West relations; environmental themes; transnational questions; global political problems and many other regional issues. The key objective of this article is to present the attitude of the G7/G8 towards the issues connected with the international trade. They were raised as the problem in the mutual relations within the group, but also as the global issue and one of the areas in the relations with Eastern Europe and with the developing states. The article includes all these aspects and it untoduces the role of liberal policy in the multilateral trade and the attitude of the most industrialized states towards the organizations, especially WTO. The paper tries to sum up the engagement of the G7/G8 into the problems of the international trade during the period of more than 30 years of its activity. The effectiveness of particular initiatives is more complex matter and it requires further research. (original abstract) - Dostępne w
