- Jacek Zbigniew Gornikiewicz is a noted Polish specialist in modern technologies of education. His recently published book Distance Studies in the USA and Poland at the turn of the XX and XXI century is a result of his latest study. The book's main objective is not to summarize and describe the living practice of distance learning (DL) but to point out the trends which the author distinguishes in a contemporary, more and more technological teaching practice. The author also compares Polish DL performance with the practise applied in the USA, tries to evaluate Polish educational reality and in particular the position of Polish pedagogic practice in the world's achievements.(fragment of text)
