- Internationalization, new media, Internet, guest speakers and students from all over the world, a time when academic perspective on new developing media met with real life examples presented by the state-of-the-art technology business leaders - all of these we managed to make true at the University of Economics in Katowice during the unique week between on 21st - 25th February, 2011. In this unique on Polish scale venture participated students from more than 20 countries, 4 continents, 12 foreign professors from 7 European countries (Belgium, Germany, Great Britain, France, Italy, the Netherlands and Romania) as well as Asia (Taiwan, Turkey). A special role was played by the representatives of the 5 leading companies where innovation and new media play a crucial role. The key objective of the event was to build up the image of the University of Economics in Katowice as a modem institution open for internationalization, dialogue and cooperation with external partners (business, media, Silesian Universities Network) and keeping pace with new trends (such as Internet, mobile, new technologies).
