Suwałki Voivodeship - Abstrakt
- Niebagatelną rolę w procesie przekształceń społeczno-ekonomicznych województwa odgrywa czynnik ludzki. Ważny jest przy tym nie tylko ogólny potencjał demograficzny mierzony liczbą mieszkańców, lecz także struktura demograficzna i społeczno-zawodowa ludności, jej rozmieszczenie terytorialne, stopień koncentracji bądź rozproszenia, ruchliwość przestrzenna, a także dynamika rozwoju ludnościowego. Elementy te powinny być uwzględniane zarówno w ogólnej strategii rozwojowej województwa, jak i w szczegółowych rozwiązaniach dotyczących aktualnych oraz planowanych na przyszłość przedsięwzięć ekonomicznych związanych z rozwojem poszczególnych obszarów bądź gałęzi gospodarki narodowej.
Assuming, that there exists a close interdependence between demographic and socio-economic developments, it should be realized, that the possibility to acquire additional resources of labour force at the hitherto methods of management /1988/ was limited. Demographic situation of the country, as well as the situation at the labour market changed. Hence, presentation of a demographic projection for the region, which was to house a big investment seemed advisable. Population projection for Suwałki Voivodeship showed, that the population will increase from 449,000 in 1985 to 510,000 inhabitants in 2000, at a reduction of rural population from 221,000 to 209,000, and increase in towns from 228,000 to 301,000. Population at the age of economic activity in towns will increase by 45,000, and it will decrease by 13,000 in villages. Population in Suwałki Voivodeship will grow due to natural increase by 60-70,000 in years 1986-2000, therefore it should be expected, that part of population will be, still leaving the Suwałki Region. Demographic transformations will bring about population aging process, swifter in rural than in urban areas. Population of persons at the post-economic activity age will grow by 20,000 which creates new social problems connected with this group of population. So, if the development of Suwałki Voivodeship proceeds gradually, and new jobs are created different places, the threat of lack in labour force will not appear.
