Warsaw - Abstrakt
- Układ komunikacyjny spełnia w każdej aglomeracji miejskiej ważne zadania, związane z obsługą potrzeb komunikacyjnych i transportowych ludności, a także zlokalizowanych na jej terenie zakładów przemysłowych. Każda aglomeracja miejska jest z reguły również ważnym węzłem komunikacyjnym obsługującym ruch tranzytowy. Prawidłowo rozwiązany układ komunikacyjny miasta powinien sprawować dwie podstawowe funkcje: - obsługi i ruchu wewnątrzmiejskiego, - obsługi i ruchu regionalnego oraz krajowego i międzynarodowego, tak docelowego, jak i tranzytowego. Zamierzeniem tego opracowania jest: scharakteryzowanie przede wszystkim układu drogowo-ulicznego Warszawy.
Transportation system performs important function in every agglomeration. This function is connected with serving communication and transportation needs of both - inhabitants and enterprises lokalized within its territory. The system of roads and streets has been characterized in the work. Development of this system proceeded along with urbanization. After World War II, Warsaw transportation complex was rebuilt from ruins. At present it is still being modernized. In 1984 the joint lenght of streets in Warsaw amounted to 2,490 km, 1,781 of this total had asphalt pavement, 28% of streets were included in the primary system. There are 154 bridges, 11 road tunnels and 59 pedestrian subways and foot-bridges. System of roads and streets in Warsaw is characteristic of fairly well developed arrangement of radial routes, with the significant shortage of ring roads. There is lack of roads of parameters adequate for transit and inter-district traffics, which would allow to pass by the centre of the city. There can be observed discrepancies between the function and parameters of streets. Average speed within the primary system of Warsaw roads is 40 km/h. 16% of roads of this system should be considered as not providing adequate conditions of traffic. Conditions in 43% of roads should be defined as critical, and 14 of cross-roads have reached the limits of their traffic capacities. Warsaw transportation system should be developed in the arrangement of three zones of differentiated assignment of tasks between public and private means transport. There should be also undertaken activities in modernization and reconditioning, with the remove of guts. Following the idea of organizational and technological integration of all means of transportation in Warsaw will become indispensable. New means of transportation - underground - will start to function, which will ensure the service of large suburban housing estates. There is the urgent need to improve the complex of country roads the centre of which is Warsaw, in order to facilitate traffic conditions and lessen its arduousness. (original abstract) - Dostępne w
