Despite the fact that the academic interests concerning Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) reach as far as the 40s. of the previous century, the drivers of corporate responsible behavior remain ambiguous and disputable. Scholars employed ethical, strategic and institutional arguments in order to explain socially and environmentally conscious conduct. The present article reviews and discusses the existing studies attempting to apply above mentioned types of arguments standing behind CSR. (original abstract)
