- Abstrakt
- European Social Security System has been created to make the employment of workers easier and to increase their occupational mobility within the European Union. Taking into account the changes affecting social security in EU and the essential features of a EU and national approach, this article will review the fundamental principles laid down in the EU coordination rules, namely applicable legislation, equal treatment, aggregation of periods and exportability. We show that those principles prevent the possible negative effects on old-age pension benefits for workers and their families that the exercise of the freedom of movement set out in the article 45 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, and how they are applied in Poland.
