Abstrakt
The authors predict that after the challenges that Artificial Intelligence (AI) has the potential to inflict very serious damage to labor - capital relations and social contract in developed countries. Globalization benefited millions but also disempowered the Western nation-state and workers. Governments are unable to provide job security, prevent income inequality, or offer adaptation to new types of employment. AI will reduce the use of skilled workers and finally tip the balance towards capital as the sole means of production at expense of gainful employment for millions of workers. The popular reaction to the failure of governments to deal with effects of globalization and the collapse of the social contract led to the rise of populism and illiberal democracies. AI will may destroy the fabric of the western states by reducing the need for human labor and under employ millions. We will demonstrate the dangers posed by AI and propose ideas how to avert the collapse of the social contact and the social order as we know it. (original abstract)
