Purpose: The paper's goal is to find out the analize the advantages of Feed-in-tariff as a policy tool for the renewable energy support in Germany. Design/methodology/approach: For the purpose of their research they used the method of critically analyzing the literature. Findings: For the past few decades Germany has been regarded as one of the leading countries in term of renewable energy industry development. One form of German government support for renewable energy is Feed-in-tariffs (FIT) which appeared to be one of the most effective policy tool in the modern history. A FIT is a tool that typically provides eligible renewable generators with guaranteed access to a predictable, long-term revenue stream from a creditworthy buyer. Originality/value: The paper consists of three chapters. In the first one the overall and detailed types of German renewable energy support is described. In the second chapter we describe how the FIT has became the main mechanism in this area. And in the last chapter we analize the benefits from implementing FIT in Germany(original abstract)
