Abstrakt
Polish furniture industry has got a big production potential. In 2014 it reaches the eighth position among all global furniture manufacturers. Despite such good results, the situation of Polish enterprises is very diverse. This paper aims to present structural changes in Polish furniture industry in the last five years (2009-2014). The analysis will seek to establish to what extent the structural changes in Polish furniture industry have taken place and how wide were their impact on Polish economy. The main results indicate that the Polish furniture industry is dominated by small, one-factory furniture plants with less than 10 - 20 employees. In the years 2009 - 2014 it was focused average on ca. 24500 companies which were actively engaged in economic activities. The 91% of the furniture firms keeps very low employment (less than 9 people). There are relatively few firms (about 500) with more than 50 employees, but their impact have fundamental importance from Polish economy point of view(original abstract)
